About EVOLV Engineering
Leaving people and the Built Environment better than we found them.

Todd M. Burdge, PE, LEED AP
Founder & Principal Structural Engineer
If you’ve worked on enough projects, you’ve likely felt it: the moment when a promising idea starts to flatten. Not because it lacked merit — but because the process couldn’t support it.
In cities shaped by rapid, profit-driven development, it’s easy to overlook the significant contributions buildings make to long-term infrastructure, environmental impact, and a sense of place. After more than 25 years in practice, our founder Todd Burdge saw this pattern repeat itself.
We believe the built environment deserves more intention, more consideration for how people live now, how they’ll live in the future, and what kind of legacy a project leaves behind.
The design profession doesn’t need another consultant who shows up late and works in isolation. It needs people who understand vision, ask thoughtful questions, and engage early when ideas can still be tested, refined, and strengthened.
EVOLV was created to work differently.
By collaborating sooner and thinking more holistically, we help teams navigate complexity before it turns into redesign, cost overruns, or frustration. The goal is to make better decisions upfront, so projects move forward with clarity, speed, and confidence.
EVOLV is for architects, owners, and design professionals who care about craft, context, and impact. People who are tired of transactional relationships and want collaborators who take ownership, think critically, and give a damn about the outcome.
Together, we make complex ideas possible and worth pursuing — so projects feel better to design, build, and live with.
That’s what building differently means to us.
